- Dr. Melanie Hazard, Kaigon of London, mounts an expedition to Antarctica during the Southern Hemisphere's winter. She discovers a Carrier frozen in ice deep within a cave complex. Her journals are later found near the site of the cave, but no other trace of the expedition is ever recovered.[1]
- The Mobile Public Library opens.[2]
- The Zoölogischer Garten U-Bahn station is build in Berlin.[3]
