Events[]
- 1455-1487: The War of the Roses between the houses of York and Lancaster, both contenders to the english throne.[1]
1470[]
- The beginning of the Boiling Plague. In the wake of Tezghul's horde, a vicious boil-sickness spreads across northeastern Europe. Victims die within days.[2]
- (Spring) The Great Betrayal. Heylel Teomim bani Solificati (hoping to create a crisis which will unite the Traditions) betrays the First Cabal to Rivallon de Corbie, who assembles an army, the Iron Hounds and the Legion de Triumph to meet them at Narbonne. Fall Breeze[3], Daud-Allah Abu Hisham ibn Muqla al-Baghdadi and Louis DuMonte[4] are killed, along with three Iron Hounds and many soldiers. Akrites Salonikas and Heylel escape. Cygnus Moro, Sister Bernadette, Walking Hawk and Eloine are captured and tortured in Brienne Castle. Moro dies.[2][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
- (Summer) Led by Akrites Salonikas, the Traditions demolish Brienne Castle. Heylel Teomim is captured (or surrenders) soon afterwards.[2][14][11]
- (November) The Great Betrayer is branded Thoabath (Abomination) and sentenced to Gilgul and death. During the trial, the Solificati break with other Traditions and each other.[2][11][14][15][16][12]
1471[]
- Edward of York returns with an army from the Netherlands and defeats rogue Yorkists at Barnet.[17]
- (Winter) Diplomate Luis is assassinated by a Solificati rival. Without him, the Tradition collapses, leaving vacant the Seat of Matter on the Council. Some Solificati defect to the Order of Reason; 12 are sheltered by the Order of Hermes; most shun both Orders and go into hiding. The remaining Traditions form Wards within Horizon, sequestering themselves away from others.[2][15][11]
1472[]
- Grand Duke Ivan III marries a byzantine princess and begins the fight to free his land from the Mongols. With aid from Venice, he manages to rebuild Moscow into a large city, worthy to become the "Third Rome".[18]
- (Winter) The Iron Hounds harass and weaken the forces of Tezghul the Insane. One by one, however, they are killed.[2]
- June 15 - June 18: Battle of Harz. Magistrates Roland Hoffmann and Georg der Tapfere lead the Artificers, Cosians, Die Wolffgilde and a huge mortal army against Tezghul the Insane. The effort succeeds, but at great cost. Tezghul is slain, and Roland Hoffmann dies a hero.[2][12]
1473[]
- Avicenna's teachings about alchemy are translated and spread in Europe via the printing press.[19]
- May 9: Vigilance Day: The Inner Circle declares a holiday to commemorate the defeat of Tezghul the Insane and the sacrifices of the Iron Hounds. Celebrations are held in Languedoc, London, Florence, Paris, and Harz. Observations include prayer, display of arms and parades, and Artisan fairs, where new inventions are unveiled to mortals. Huge memorial statue erected outside the White Tower of Languedoc.[2]
1474[]
- Brandenburg Krankenhaus finds a cure to the Boiling Plague.[2]
1475[]
- War of Concordia. Hearing of the Traditions' distress, Georg der Tapfere uncovers portals to Horizon and leads through a huge Daedalean offensive. They plunder and burn the realm until an attempted siege of Concordia breaks the effort.[2][16][12]
- The First Council of the Council of Nine meets in Horizon.[20]
- The Brotherhood of Cleisthenics cabal is founded in response to threat of the fragmentation of the Traditions. Cleisthenics suggest to Council of Nine the establishment of festivals and cross-Tradition groups.[15]
- The tenth meeting of the Order of Reason's Inner Circle, advancing the Time Table.[21][22]
- Vlad Dracul returns from imprisonment and is allegedly killed by the Shadow Lords. [23]
