Events[]
1441[]
- Mistridge attendees scatter. Nightshade journeys alone to the Americas through the Paths of the Wyck. Sh'zar, Valoran, and Baldric La Salle spread word from northern Europe to Middle East to Asia.[1]
- Seeking the cause of the plagues, shamanness Naioba (daughter of Kola'a Ti) stalks the white ghost through the Mo-Mo Keu dreamlands. There she encounters Star-of-Eagles. Both are nearly slain by the white dream-ghost. Later, she meets Sh'zar and Ali-beh-shaar; seeking an end to plague, she decides to join their Convocation. With her father's help, she strikes a truce between Madzimbabwe, Ngoma and other sects.[1]
- Portuguese voyages to the western coast of Africa reintroduce the slave trade to Europe.[2]
1442[]
- End of Wyndgarde's March. Christopher Wyndgarde sweeps Britain until an ambush outside Newry, Ireland, leaves his forces frozen solid. He dies at Nightshade's hands.[3][4]
- Decade of the Hunt. Pagan mages and fae stalk survivors of Wyndgarde's army until 1452, causing reign of terror across Britain.[1][5]
- P. Tetramegestus creates his fourth variant of the Hieratic Convolutions of Aron-hotep.[6]
1445[]
- The Council of Basel-Ferrata-Florence under Pope Eugenius IV is held, which fails to reunificate the Greek Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches. Dissent within the Catholic Church over the role of the advising cardinals leads to the short-lived appointment of Felix V as rival pope, although he has to quickly stand down.[7]
- Wallachians led by Hunyadi win major victories. Janos Hunyadi overcomes the opposition of the Hungarian nobility and is chosen as “governor of Hungary.” He is considered the “true ruler of the Hungarian kingdom.”[8]
- The eighth meeting of the Order of Reason's Inner Circle, advancing the Time Table.[9][10]
- Lodge Wars of Tuscany end. Various guilds claiming to be "true Masons" have fought throughout northern Italy. Some possess Solificati secrets, Hermetic ties or Craftmason affiliations, but most are simply mortal guilds. Diplomat Luis takes charge of several feuding guilds and resurrects the Solificati under Hermetic patronage.[3][11]
1446[]
- At a secret meeting, a large number of younger Lasombra agree to join the Brujah in revolting against their elders. Grantiano is not present at this meeting. In response to the ensuing deaths of many older Lasombra, the elders of the major European clans agree (at least in principle) to cooperate with each other, laying the groundwork for the eventual formation of the Camarilla.[12] (It should be noted that this contradicts the timeline of events described in other books. See the Anarch Revolt article for more information)
- Naioba meets Sh'zar and Ali-beh-shaar; seeking an end to plague, she decides to join their Convocation.[1]
- Bosch born[13]
