Events[]
- Default starting date for Dark Ages: Vampire (also Dark Ages: Mage, Dark Ages: Inquisitor, Dark Ages: Werewolf, and Dark Ages: Fae).
- 1208-1244: Albigensian Crusade against the Cathars in France continues. The war results in the complete destruction of the cultures of Provençe and Aquitaine.[1][2]
- The Astral Reaches are notably empty, echoing with the loss of Rome, Alexandria, and Byzantium to anti-intellectual forces. Many concept-spirits aren't seen again until the Renaissance, some are never seen again.[3]
- François Villon is Embraced by the ancient Toreador Helena.
- The Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem's Grand Master at this time is Bertrand de Thessy.[4]
- May 14: The Oath-Truce is set to fall. Fae are unsure what to expect next: can they really resume warring against each other now that humanity covers so much of the world?[5][6][7]
- The Massasa War is still ongoing.[8]
- September: Matthew sends a letter to his Masters regarding the flight of he and his colleagues and how they were chased by the Tremere.[9]
- November: Matthew again writes to his Masters. The rebuilding of the town the Tremere destroyed goes well, but he finds their request for a "specimen" unfathomable. Regardless, he will do his best to retrieve a vampire for study.[10]
