- 1210 - 1266: Scourge of the Huns. Massive armies ravage Asia, Europe, Middle East. Akashic Brotherhood, Dalou'laoshi, Taftâni, and Wu Lung decimated in fighting and take decades to recover old strength.[1][2]
- Spring
- Craftsmason Covenant. Sick of Hermetic depredations, decimated by magickal plagues, several trade and artisan guilds unite with Craftmasons in southern France.[3][2]
- Winter
- Fall of Mistridge. A mob of commoners, led by a group of rogue rationalists from House Ex Miscellanea calling themselves Craftmasons (masterminded by Stephen Trevanus) destroy the sanctum of Mistridge. The Craftmasons use cannons. Siege ends when a Hermetic traitor (possibly the warlock Grimgroth bani Jerbiton[4]) opens a secret passage into the castle. Few mages escape. Initially assuming the Craftmasons to be catspaws of the Tremere[5][6], the Order of Hermes doesn't immediately recognize the significance of this act. Later, the event is retroactively declared the official beginning of the Ascension War.[7][3][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][2][18][19][20][21][22][23][24]
